Lois Madding passed away on April 10, 2024, after a brief illness. She was the wife of Dr. Curtis Madding. They shared 26 years of marriage together in their beautiful Hart Flat home they built together.

Lois Gilliland was born in Gassville, Arkansas on November 03, 1934. Lois’ family moved to Tehachapi, CA in 1937 where she continued to live for the rest of her life. Lois’s siblings in order of birth are Jimmy, Gene, (Lois), Merle, Wayne, Eileen, and Greg. Gene Gilliland is the only surviving sibling.

Lois graduated from Tehachapi High School and was then married to Fred Muro in 1957. Lois and Fred had two children, Janet Ogan (Nathan) of Los Banos and Larry Muro (Janine) of Ventura. Lois was always a devoted and loving mother to her two children and subsequent grandchildren, great and great great-grandchildren. Lois became a widow when Fred passed away in May of 1992.

Besides being a wonderful mother, Lois was much respected for her 35 years working at Tehachapi Unified School District as the Business Manager. Her intelligence and professionalism set a positive example for many professionals of her era.

Lois also enjoyed and excelled in exceptional cooking skills which she generously shared with so many. Lois loved to cook for small and large groups of friends and family and did so with such elegance and grace. Lois was an active member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran church in Tehachapi, and she will be remembered for her extreme generosity. She was a cheerful volunteer for all things cooking involved. She also donated her developed
business skills with supplemental church financial accounting tasks.

The Memorial service will be on Saturday, 4/27 at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tehachapi, CA – 329 South Mill Street @ 11:00 am.

There will be a luncheon held at the church directly after the service. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers should be made to St. Jude Childhood Cancer Research Hospital and Charity.
